We regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Embodied Creation Workshop and Evening Concert with Oh Pray Tell, scheduled for Sunday April 27, at Presentation House Theatre have been CANCELLED.

Join us for an evening of music, story, and rhythm with Oh Pray Tell – a soulful trio featuring Betty Supple, Sally Titasey, and Shayna Jones – and a daytime workshop exploring embodied creation.

Oh Pray Tell is musical trio Betty Supple, Sally Titasey, and Shayna Jones. With three-part harmonies grounded in banjo and stomp-clap-cajon rhythms, they weave together poetry, story, and spoken word. Their original sound draws on gospel, rhythm & blues, roots music, and folk storytelling traditions, offering a soulful, stirring performance you won’t want to miss.

Shayna Jones is no stranger to Dark Glass Theatre. A longtime Associate Artist, she won a Jessie Award for her moving performance as Salima in Ruined (2018), and more recently debuted her powerful solo show No Mama, No Cry with us in the spring of 2024.

Sally and Betty may be new faces to our audience, but their open-hearted approach to music and their deep belief in the power of shared storytelling make them a natural fit for Dark Glass. We’re thrilled to welcome them.

Any evening with this powerful ensemble would be a treat. But this concert is extra special, because it includes participants from the Embodied Creation Workshop the same day.

What is an Embodied Creation Workshop?

Oh Pray Tell is more than a band. They are a musical collaboration between three women who believe in the power of shared experience. Shayna Jones is a storyteller and drummer, Sally Titasey is a somatic practitioner, and Betty Supple is a performance artist with a background in clowning. Together, they create their music through a process that blends movement, rhythm, storytelling, and vocal harmony.

In partnership with Dark Glass Theatre, this one-day workshop invites participants into that same creative space. Shayna, Sally, and Betty will guide participants through a series of exercises inspired by their distinct practices – from body awareness and rhythm to improvisation, story, and song. The focus is on exploration, not performance. It’s a chance to try new things, connect with others, and express yourself in a supportive space.

By the end of the workshop, each person will have created something – it might be storytelling, spoken word, music, movement, or rhythm. There will be an opportunity to share this piece as part of the evening concert, but performing is completely optional.

No previous experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play. Whether you need more fun in your life, or you’re a performer who misses the rehearsal hall, or you’ve simply never tried anything like this, you are welcome.
