An award winning actor, a playwright, a folklorist, and a multi-disciplinary spoken word artist specializing in the traditional oral storytelling of African and Afro-Diasporic lore.

As a professionally trained performer, vocalist, and fine mover, Shayna has crafted performances for countless audiences across Canada featuring Afro-centric Folk History, Folklore and Contemporary Experience.

Sally Titasey (she/they)

A dynamic musician, singer, songwriter, and multidisciplinary artist whose work draws from her diverse heritage as an indigenous Torres Strait Islander with Polynesian and Indonesian roots. Her art is deeply shaped by her identity and personal experiences.

Since 2015, Sally has been a member of OH PRAY TELL, a multidisciplinary trio known for their powerful harmonies, experimental folklore, and bold political commentary. The group blends sass, grace, and storytelling in a way that responds to the times, offering a unique voice in today’s musical landscape.

Sally’s community work is closely tied to her music, with her experiences as a death doula and her training to become a somatic therapeutic counsellor influencing the way she approaches her art. Her dedication to healing and social change quietly shapes her music, allowing it to reflect her values and connection to the world around her.

 
 
 

Beth Stupple (Betty Supple)

Musician | Clown | Composer/Songwriter | Performance Artist | Facilitator | Restorative Justice Practitioner

Known by her artistic name Betty Supple, is a multidisciplinary artist, community facilitator, and Restorative Justice practitioner. A descendant of settlers with English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry, she is dedicated to confronting and deconstructing whiteness, both internally and externally. Beth has had the privilege of learning about decolonization and cultural protocols from Indigenous leaders such as Deb and Tousilum George, James Johnson, Marilyn James, and others.

Betty dabbles in an array of instruments including mandolin, banjo, guitar, keys, autoharp, and circuit-bent toys. Her music is inspired by diverse genres like soul, R&B, trip-hop, hip hop and folk, as well as the natural world. Beth has toured extensively, performing across Canada and beyond at festivals such as Victoria Jazz Fest, ArtsWells, and Fusion Fest, with bands like Dirty Grace, The Honey Tongues, and Oh Pray Tell.

Beth co-founded the Koksilah Music Festival, and continues to facilitate workshops focused on vocal improvisation, songwriting, clowning and creative expression. Her work fosters inclusivity, community, and social justice through art, music, and collaboration.
